MSPT starts in Milwaukee on Thursday

1 April 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- From 4-7 April, the MSPT will be in Milwaukee for the first Wisconsin stop of Season 10 at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. It’s there that the 2019 MSPT Milwaukee Poker Open will play out. The $1,100 buy-in, $300,000 GTD Main Event will offer three starting flights beginning with Day 1A on Thursday, 4 April.

The 1B and 1C flights will be held on Friday, 5 April and Saturday, 6 April respectively. The surviving players from all flights will return at 11 a.m. on Sunday, 7 April and play down to a winner.

The MSPT visited Potawatomi back in November for the 2018 MSPT Wisconsin State Poker Championship, which drew 748 entries to become the largest major poker tournament ($1,000+ buy-in) in Wisconsin history. Brett Halan of Naperville, Illinois, who broke through for his first MSPT cash, won for a career-high $144,812.

With 1,658 entries, last July’s MSPT $350 Regional Event tied the record for the largest ever held in Wisconsin. Eric Barnes won that tournament where first place paid $80,648.

Potawatomi Hotel is offering MSPT players a room rate of just $139/night for this upcoming event, this rate is available 3-8 April.
