Mount Airy hearing planned5 December 2007PENNSYLVANIA -- As reported by the Pocono Record: "The Gaming Oversight Committee of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives will conduct a hearing on Thursday at Mount Airy examining the operation and the economic and social impact of Mount Airy Casino Resort on the surrounding communities. "The committee will hear testimony from Mount Airy's chief executive officer, Joe D'Amato, and vice president, Lisa DeNaples. Also expected to testify is Monroe County Commissioner and Chairwoman Donna Asure; Paradise Township Supervisor's Chairman Dennis Keesler; Dianne Berlin of Casino FreePA; and Bill Kearney, a former compulsive gambler. "Casino FreePA is a statewide coalition of groups and individuals opposed to casino gambling in Pennsylvania. "...The hearing will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the casino's new event center, located off the hotel's main entrance..." |
