Mount Airy grand opening a success24 October 2007PARADISE TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania -- As reported by the Catskill News: "More than 1,000 gamblers, many arriving hours before the noon opening, flooded the floors of Pennsylvania's first free-standing casino. Mount Airy opened its doors, after a ribbon-cutting ceremony, culminating a 20-year dream for developer Louis DeNaples. "By one estimate, perhaps 10,000 gamers had visited the casino by the end of the first day. "The casino, with more than 2,500 slot machines, is part of what will be a large resort complex that will open in stages. The adjoining 188-room hotel will open next month. More components of the project will follow in the next two years..." |
