Mother-daughter duo scores big at The Brook's New Year's giveaway8 January 2024(PRESS RELEASE) -- Marian Olson and her family rang in the New Year with a windfall they won't soon forget. The Newmarket, NH native won the grand prize of The Big Ride giveaway at The Brook on New Year's Day – a $50,000 check to use toward the purchase of any vehicle at a Enxing dealership. In a surprising turn of events, Olson's daughter, Serena Beauchesne, also from Newmarket, found herself holding the gift box containing the second-place prize of $7,500 in cash. “We’re still in shock,” said Olson. “When we arrived on New Year’s Day we didn’t think we had a chance to win. I’ve never won anything like this. It’s so exciting and to see Serena win second place made it even more amazing.” Olson plans to give the new car to her grandson, Riley Beauchesne, a sophomore at Keene State College pursuing a degree in education. “I told him all along that if I won that car it would be his, but I never thought in a million years I would actually win it,” Olson said with a laugh. “He likes to come home on weekends and now he’s got a new car to drive with no monthly payments. I’m so happy for him.” An additional $17,000 in cash prizes was awarded, plus $15,000 in Free Play, to the other finalists who participated in The Big Ride by playing with their Gold Club card over the last three months. The Gold Club, The Brook's guest loyalty program, enables players to accumulate points that are redeemable for merchandise, dining, and entertainment tickets. Membership is free and open to individuals age 18 or older. “Watching Marian's reaction when she won $50,000 towards a new car made our employee-owners feel like we were living our motto of ‘Live Free and Play,’” said The Brook’s CEO Andre Carrier. “Doing good and showing our guests a great time is the mission of The Brook, America's largest charity casino.
