Morton's to open at Macau Venetian casino

21 November 2006

CHICAGO, Illinois – (PRESS RELEASE) -- A new Morton's Steakhouse fine- dining restaurant will be opening in Macau, China, it was announced today by Morton's Restaurant Group (NYSE: MRT), which owns and operates the 71 Morton's steakhouses throughout the United States and in Canada, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The company said it has signed a lease to open a Morton's steakhouse in the Macau Venetian Casino Resort, a new all-suites hotel, casino and convention center. The restaurant is projected to open as early as fall 2007.

Morton's Restaurant Group, Inc. is the world's largest operator of company-owned upscale steakhouses and the Morton's brand has become an international icon of fine dining.

The Venetian Macau, a recreation of the famed Venetian Resort Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas, is expected to open with 1,500 suites, along with 546,000 square feet of gaming facilities; a 15,000-seat event center, suitable for a variety of sporting events, concerts and entertainment events of all kinds; more than 20 restaurants, and a 60,000 square foot spa and wellness center. The Venetian, which is scheduled to open in 2007, is being built in the "Cotai Strip," an area between the islands of Taipa and Coloane in Macau. It will be the anchor property at the entrance to the Cotai Strip. The proposed development of the area is expected to include other world-renowned hotels, exhibition and conference facilities, showrooms, shopping malls, high-end restaurants, various entertainment facilities and other attractions and the most modern casinos in Asia.

"Macau, as well as the entire region, is experiencing a dramatic economic and tourist boom. It is rapidly developing a reputation as the 'Las Vegas of the East,' rapidly becoming a global premier entertainment and casino center, and the Cotai Strip will have world class meeting and convention facilities," said Thomas J. Baldwin, chairman, chief executive officer and president of Morton's Restaurant Group. "We believe that Morton's belongs in Macau."

Morton's specializes in classic, hearty American fare, serving generous portions of its specialty, USDA grain-fed Prime aged beef (the finest available), fresh fish, lobster, lamb and chicken entrees and spectacular desserts.

In addition to a uniform menu, an award-winning wine list and professional, warm and friendly Midwestern service, all Morton's steakhouses share the same luxurious look and comfortable feeling, with elegant decor, reflected in dark rich woods, leather-covered booths, subdued lighting and white linen table cloths.

The restaurant will feature Morton's Bar 12-21. Designed for convivial meeting, greeting and eating, Bar 12-21 has a rich decor, well-spaced tables, comfortable chairs, large plasma television screens and Morton's popular Bar Bites menu. Morton's bar selections feature over 50 martinis, including Morton's signature "Mortinis," the finest wines and spirits, domestic and imported beers, the best in cordials and coffee drinks -- and stellar service.

New Morton's steakhouses are also scheduled to open in Anaheim, CA; Cincinnati, OH; Coral Gables, FL; Houston, TX; San Jose, CA and Woodland Hills, CA.
