Morongo Casino Restaurant, Nightclub Negotiations Begin2 June 2005CABAZON, California – As reported by the Palm Springs Desert Sun: "The Las Vegas-based group operating the nightclub and restaurants at Morongo Casino Resort Spa closed operations Wednesday and began negotiations to sell their properties to the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. "Employees reporting to morning shifts were turned away from the N9ne Group administrative offices. N9ne employed about 300 workers at its N9ne Steakhouse, the Desert Rain nightclub, Belly Italiano and the Space Bar. "…In a statement, Maurice Lyons, chairman of the Morongo band, said that all N9ne employees were being asked to apply for jobs at Morongo. "He said that 'recently the N9ne Group contacted Morongo to express their interest in having the tribe acquire their ownership and operations of (its) venues.'…" |
