More Gulf Coast Casinos Expected to Reopen5 May 2006TUNICA, Mississippi – As reported by the Mississippi Clarion Ledger: "Some gamblers who flocked to Gulf Coast casinos before Hurricane Katrina have migrated to Tunica and Vicksburg, but that's changing as casinos reopen along the Coast, gaming experts said Thursday during the 13th annual Southern Gaming Summit. "'We have got to continue to invest in our properties to make them even more compelling,' said Michael St. Pierre, president of the Mid-South region for Harrah's Entertainment. "Six additional Gulf Coast casinos shut down by Katrina are expected to be open by the end of the year, joining the three already in operation.
