Montreal casino guards locked out29 August 2008MONTREAL, Quebec -- As reported by the Montreal Gazette: "Security employees at the Montreal Casino were locked out by management last night during a four-hour protest in front of the casino's administrative offices. "At 4:15 p.m., union leaders told management to secure the casino because employees would be walking off the job at 5 to participate in the sit-in. At about 5:50, management told the 80 striking employees that they were locked out and had to leave. "...The 191 workers have been without a collective agreement for 18 months..." |
