Montana casino bill debated

HELENA, Montana – As reported by the Great Falls Tribune: "Indian reservations should be able to offer more types of gambling as a means of economic development, the sponsor of a bill to expand reservation gaming told a House committee Monday.

"The bill sponsored by Rep. Joey Jayne, D-Arlee, would let tribes offer so-called Class III gaming, which includes slots, roulette, and blackjack.

"Jami Hamel of the Montana Tribal Gaming Association said tribes could use the revenue to make up for declining federal funding…"
