16 July 2010

Foxwoods Resort Casino is holding a week-long "Mega Stack Challenge" in August that will be hosted by well-known poker pros Chris Moneymaker and Darvin Moon.

The tournament series will be held from August 17-23 with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool. The first event will be a two-day event from August 17-18 with each player starting with 15,000 chips. There is a $125,000 prize pool and a buy-in of $340.

The second event, which begins on August 19, is also a two-day event and also has a $125,000 prize pool. However, players will start with 20,000 chips and the buy-in is $560.

The third event is a three-day tournament, with a guaranteed $250,000 prize pool. The buy-in is $1,650 and a starting chip stack of 40,000.

Moneymaker, the 2003 WSOP Main Event champion, and Moon, the 2009 WSOP Main Event runner-up, will both play in the "Mega Stack Challenge" as well as other daily tournaments, including single table sit & gos.

Bernard Lee, a spokesman for Foxwoods who just cashed in this year's Main Event, will also compete.

FoxwoodsLive.com will be blogging the event as well as providing pictures and video interviews.
