Mohegan Sun welcomes Regis Philbin

19 February 2008

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- In celebration of "the hardest working man in show business" arriving in Uncasville, CT, Mohegan Sun threw Regis Philbin a much deserved welcoming party. Mohegan Sun enlisted the services of Montville High School's marching band to play the Notre Dame Fight song and greet him in grand fashion. An extraordinary number of fans and patrons came out and helped welcome Regis to this beautiful part of southeastern Connecticut. Those in attendance were cheering, holding welcoming signs and demonstrating their love and passion for the man himself, Reg.

Regis made the trip to Mohegan Sun to perform in The Uncas Ballroom on Sunday, February 17th at 3:00pm. Appearing on television since the late 1950s, Philbin is often called "the hardest working man in show business" and holds the Guinness World Record for the most time spent in front of a television camera (nearly 16,000 hours). Best known for Live with Regis and Kelly, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and for hosting the first season of America's Got Talent, Philbin is an American icon and one of the greatest entertainers of our time. Now 76, Philbin had triple bypass surgery eight months ago and says he's feeling fine; his health is a "minor consideration" when it comes to deciding his future.
