Mohegan Sun to open storefront office in Mass.

PALMER, Massachusetts -- As reported by The Boston Globe: "Officials at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut are opening a storefront office in central Massachusetts to demonstrate their commitment to building a new gambling resort there.

"Mohegan Sun Executive vice President Jeff Hartmann on Monday will join the head of the Connecticut-based Indian tribe and local leaders to open the office in downtown Palmer.

"The office is intended to help make Mohegan Sun part of the Palmer community as Massachusetts lawmakers consider reopening a debate on legalizing casino gambling in the state.

"Mohegan Sun's $1 billion plans for Palmer would include a 164,000-square-foot casino with restaurants, retail space, a spa and 600 hotel rooms..."
