Mohegan Sun Selects Architect for Expansion

6 February 2006

NEW YORK – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The New York office of SOSH Architects has been selected to develop an extensive, phase-III master plan for the Mohegan Sun Casino's property in Uncasville, Connecticut, it was announced by the Mohegan Tribal Council today.

"We are delighted to have been chosen, and very excited about the opportunity to participate in the expansion of one of the nation's premier casinos," said Nory Hazaveh, AIA, PP, managing partner of SOSH-NY, who will lead the design team. "We expect to develop the master plan over the next four to eight months," he said.

SOSH's master plan design won in a year-and-a-half long competition with some of the world's best known entertainment and hospitality architectural firms. The tribal council selected SOSH's master plan idea for its "creative approach and commitment to excellence in design."

SOSH Architects maintains offices in New York City, New York and Atlantic City, New Jersey. It has over 25 years of experience in gaming, entertainment, retail and hospitality design, and numerous hospitality and gaming industry clients, nationally and internationally.

The Mohegan Sun is one of the nation's most prominent gaming and entertainment destinations. It was created in 1996 by the Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut and now hosts a large luxury hotel, convention center, 300,000 square feet of gaming space, over two dozen dining options, retail stores and a sports arena.
