Mohegan Sun honors Paul Anka

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Paul Anka has performed for millions of adoring fans over the past fifty years. His upcoming performance in Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, September 22nd is made extra special with two newly added events. First Anka will take part in a Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame event in front of the Mohegan Sun Box Office at 3:00pm on Saturday, September 22nd. Immediately following his 8:00pm performance in the Arena he will participate in a Signings & Sightings event in conjunction with Spin Street on the Spin Street stage in The at Mohegan Sun Shops Concourse.

Tickets for the Saturday, September 22ndth show are $45.00 and are still available through the Mohegan Sun Box Office and Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to ticketmaster.com, call any Ticketmaster Charge By Phone number, or visit any Ticketmaster outlet.

Paul Anka's relationship with Mohegan Sun began in 2004 when he first performed in the Arena. Fans could not get their fill of Anka and he has continued to perform before sold out audiences in both the Arena and The Cabaret Theatre. His combination of shows total thirteen and the performance on Saturday, September 22nd will make a culmination of appearing before more than 35,000 fans.

Paul Anka's career was launched by the hit single "Diana" in 1957, and it's been a non-stop ride ever since with sales of more than 60 million records and over 33 Top 40 hits. Anka lists over 900 songs to his credit including Frank Sinatra's signature tune "My Way," and the theme song from The Tonight Show.

Collaborating with Spin Street, Mohegan Sun's one-of-a-kind Signings & Sightings program provides guests the opportunity to meet entertainment superstars and world renowned artists. In addition, the program provides entertainers the opportunity to get up close and personal with their fans in a unique and exciting venue in which to showcase their latest work. Signings & Sightings events are free and open to the public.

Recently celebrating its 10th Anniversary, Mohegan Sun has become the Northeast's premier entertainment destination, and to recognize those individuals who have made significant contributions to the company's success, Mohegan Sun has developed the "Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame." Tim McGraw was the first inductee in 2004; Rod Stewart and Alan Jackson were honored in 2005. Toby Keith, Bon Jovi, Journey, Def Leppard, Brooks and Dunn and Rascal Flatts were honored with stars in 2006. New inductees in 2007 include Keith Urban, Martina McBride and Jimmy Buffett. All individuals inducted into the "Mohegan Sun Walk of Fame" will have their name engraved on a plaque that will be permanently placed at the entrance to Mohegan Sun Arena. They will also receive a crystal replica to commemorate the occasion during a special induction ceremony held at Mohegan Sun.
