Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs opens new slot room11 June 2010WILKES-BARRE, Pennsylvania -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- A penny is worth a lot more than just your thoughts at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs; it can give you hours of fun and entertainment in the new Penny Grove, a smoke-free slot room featuring nearly 300 machines all with a one-cent denomination. The new room opened today to a crowd of hundreds. "We are excited to open Penny Grove as it not only complements our existing offerings, but is a sign that the launch of table games should soon be following," said Bobby Soper, President and Chief Executive Officer for Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. "To make room for the new tables, we needed to remove some of the machines, but did not want to inconvenience our guests. We felt it was important to create a new area with even more machines for them to play." Penny Grove, which was inspired by a forest in the mountains of the Poconos, is home to just under 300 machines, all with a denomination of one cent, and features popular games like Sex and the City, Quick Hits Platinum, Ruby Slippers, Jackpot 7's, Fireball and I Dream of Jeannie. Guests can find their favorite classics in the room as well such as Wicked Winnings II, Reel em' In Catch the Big One, Wizard of Oz and Indiana Jones. |
