Mohegan appoints Nathan Cholewa Director of Social Media

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Mohegan is pleased to announce the promotion of Nathan Cholewa to Director of Social Media. A Mohegan Tribal Member and dedicated Team Member for the Mohegan Tribe and Mohegan corporate team for 10 years, Cholewa most recently served as Social Media Manager for Mohegan. He now steps into an expanded leadership role overseeing the brand’s enterprise-wide social media strategy.

As Director of Social Media, Cholewa will be responsible for the development and execution of integrated social strategies which will involve oversight and leadership for all paid and organic social media, influencer partnerships, and the creation of social-first content, including photo and video production.

“Nate Cholewa has played an integral role in shaping how Mohegan connects with our guests across Social Media, bringing creativity, lively content and strategic collaborations to the role,” said David Martinelli, CMO of Mohegan. “He leads by example and helps shape so many engaging stories in the fast-paced and ever-changing world of Social Media – and we’re thrilled to have him leading the Social Media team across the enterprise!”

As Director of Social Media, Cholewa will also support key business objectives for Mohegan’s portfolio of premier casino resorts, which includes Mohegan Pennsylvania, Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara in Ontario, and Mohegan’s flagship destination in Uncasville, CT, Mohegan Sun, celebrating its 30th anniversary in October. He will also play a vital role in advancing social media strategy and content for Mohegan Digital, which operates innovative online gaming platforms across these markets.

Prior to joining Mohegan’s Social Media team, Cholewa held leadership roles with Mohegan Holding Company, a former hospitality subsidiary of the Mohegan Tribe. He was appointed Project Manager of Marketing & Real Estate in November 2016, where he developed and executed marketing initiatives and social media strategies for a diverse portfolio of brands, including Pasta Vita, Arooga’s, Jersey Mike’s Subs, Smashburger, and Mohegan Renewable Energy. Cholewa was later promoted to Marketing Manager / Real Estate Manager, where he led advertising and creative strategy, including graphic design, social media, and marketing analysis. In this role, he also oversaw real estate development projects, ensuring all phases of planning and contractual execution were managed efficiently from concept through completion, while aligning timelines with broader marketing and business objectives.

In February of 2021, Cholewa became Interim Director of Marketing for Mohegan Holding Company, responsible for developing the marketing plans, branding and high level analysis for various companies within Mohegan Holding’s portfolio.

Cholewa, a member of the Mohegan and Chubunagungamaug Nipmuck Tribes, remains active in community and business initiatives throughout eastern Connecticut. He resides in Griswold, CT with his wife, Tessa, and their two sons, and their family looks forward to welcome twin daughters in coming months.
