Missouri commission enacts casino moratorium17 June 2008MISSOURI -- As reported by the St. Louis Business Journal: "The Missouri Gaming Commission on Monday placed a moratorium on new casino applications in the state until voters decide a measure in November that would prohibit additional gaming boats beyond those in existence or approved for priority investigation and under construction. "The agency's action will not stop Pinnacle Entertainment's $450 million River City casino project in Lemay, Mo., from opening in the first half of 2009. "The moratorium includes Des Moines, Iowa-based Wild Rose Entertainment's application for a license for a planned casino in Sugar Creek, Mo., a suburb of Kansas City..." |
