Missouri casino numbers down

MISSOURI – As reported by the Kansas City Star: "Casinos in Kansas City and statewide for the first time have posted revenue and admission declines in two consecutive months.

"'Every once in a while, we'll see one market or the other down, but nothing like this with the same trend lines for both,' said Martha LeMond, Missouri Gaming Commission financial analyst.

"…Kansas City casino revenues last month were down 2.4 percent, to $55.4 million. That followed an October revenue drop of 1.2 percent.

"Casino admissions also fell for a second straight month, slipping 9.5 percent to 1.84 million, the market's smallest turnstile count since early 2003.

"Statewide, Missouri's 11 gambling parlors posted collective revenues of $124.5 million, down 1.2 percent on the heels of a 1.7 percent drop in October. Statewide admissions were off 7.3 percent last month and 6.4 percent in October…"
