Mississippi Teeming with Gaming Projects16 March 2004MISSISSIPPI -- As reported by the Clarion-Ledger: ``Construction workers are driving pilings and preparing to erect a parking garage for Biloxi's Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. ``...The $235 million casino, scheduled to open in summer 2005, will employ about 900 people. It will include an 11-story, 306-room hotel. ``The Hard Rock is among six casino projects under way in the state. Four of the projects total more than $375 million. ``Also planned: Bali-Hi and Delta Blues casinos in Greenville, Rock-N-Roll Casino in Biloxi and the Emerald Star Casino and Resort in Natchez. Gallott Properties has announced, but not named, another Biloxi casino. ``...Beverly Martin, executive director of the Gulf Coast Gaming Association, said casino projects are moving ahead because firms on Wall Street are willing to lend money at good interest rates..." |
