Mississippi slot jackpot reaches $13 million29 July 2008MISSISSIPPI -- As reported by the Mississippi Sun Herald: "The Wheel of Fortune $1 slot machines are found in casinos everywhere, yet only one player at one Mississippi casino will soon hit for more than $13 million. "'It is statistically overdue to be hit,' said Rick Sorensen, spokesperson for International Game Technology in Reno, Nev. Mississippi's $13,069,833 jackpot will top the previous record of $11.2 million set at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas in 2004. "...The winner of the $13 million will get the first of 20 annual payments in a large check a few hours after hitting the jackpot. The win first must be verified by the Mississippi Gaming Commission and IGT, which pays the jackpot. IGT's nickel Wheel of Fortune and Mega Rich games pay in one lump sum..." |
