Mississippi Casino Proposal Switched for Condos

MISSISSIPPI – As reported by the Biloxi Sun-Herald: "After nearly two years of seeking county approval to build a casino, developer Kirk Ladner exchanged his plans Thursday for another familiar proposal: Condos.

"Ladner wanted the county to create a special-use district on five acres near Clermont Harbor, which would've allowed him to build South Beach Casino and Resort. Those plans included the casino and a 14-story hotel and parking garage.

"At this week's Planning Commission meeting, Ladner withdrew his application, and instead asked for approval to build a five-story condominium on the land…"
