Mississippi casino employee numbers back up

BILOXI, Mississippi – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "John Hairston, one of three members of the Mississippi Gaming Commission, said Wednesday casino employment is at pre-Katrina levels and the "future is incredibly bright" for the Coast.

"Hairston gave members of Leadership Gulf Coast an overview of the casino industry's recovery since the hurricane. The rebound in jobs from summer to autumn has been swift. There are now more than 13,000 people working at casinos, he said.

"…The opening of a new casino, the Silver Slipper, on Nov. 9, should put the number past 14,000, he said…"
