Mississippi Casino Barge Proposed

VICKSBURG, Mississippi – As reported by the Clarion Ledger: "A developer who once sought to locate a casino on the Big Black River has published notice that his company wants to put a fifth casino in Vicksburg.

"Jim Belisle and Lakes Gaming Mississippi LLC is proposing a gambling barge off U.S. 61 South.

"…Plans call for a 40,000-square-foot gaming vessel that would be the second-largest casino in the city.

"Last year, Lakes Gaming announced that it had obtained an option to buy land south of the city between U.S. 61 South and the Mississippi River. Lakes Gaming's parent company is Lake Entertainment Inc. of Minneapolis…"
