Mississippi $900 Million Resort Approved

NATCHEZ, Mississippi – As reported by the Mississippi Clarion-Ledger: "Myriad Botanical Resort, a $900 million, 540-acre development in Tunica County, was approved by the Mississippi Gaming Commission today.

"Scott Hawrelechko, chief executive officer of Myriad World Resorts, a Canadian company based in Edmonton, Alberta, said the company chose Mississippi because of the availability to land.

"…This is the first gaming venture for the company.

"Plans call for an 80,000-square-foot casino with 2,000 slot machines and 90 table games, a 1,200-room hotel, a convention center, botanical gardens, an 18-hole, indoor golf course and a 5-acre water park.

"The resort would be the largest casino development since Mississippi legalized gaming in 1992. The state is now the third-largest gaming jurisdiction in the United States, behind Nevada and New Jersey…"
