Mirage Resorts and Danny Gans Announce Multi-Year Partnership

Since May 1997, Gans has had a successful run at the Rio, where he will be replaced by David Cassidy. The Las Vegas Sun reported that Gans was angry over repeated increases in ticket prices for his Rio show. They've gone from $39.95 when he started there to $99 now.

Mirage Resorts said its prices for Gans, and other details, will be announced early next year.

At a press conference Aug. 3, Mirage Resorts chairman Steve Wynn and Gans announced a multi-year deal for his show.

Wynn said, "When we realized we had the chance to expand entertainment at The Mirage, have Danny Gans in the same building as 'Siegfried & Roy,' we knew we had an artist that could match their pace."

"I stand before you proof that dreams do come true,'' Gans said. "I'm thrilled to be joining the Mirage Resorts family and to have my name placed alongside those of 'Siegfried & Roy' (at The Mirage) and the casts of 'O' (at Bellagio) and 'Mystere' (at Treasure Island)."
