Michigan Worker Arrested for Stealing11 February 2005MICHIGAN – As reported by the Michigan City News Dispatch: "A Blue Chip Casino worker accused of stealing $70,000 from Blue Chip Casino in November was recently arrested, along with an alleged accomplice. "Indiana State Police Detective Mike Robinson said slot technician Richard Sarvais, who had worked with the casino for four years, allegedly devised a way to manipulate the slot machines to print out tickets redeemable for cash. "…Sarvais then gave the tickets to a friend, Matthew Stock, who redeemed them, Robinson said. "Sarvais printed out 172 of the slot tickets, most of them worth $1,000, according to Robinson, who said 75 of them were cashed. "Both men were arrested for Class C felony attempted theft over $100,000 and have been arraigned in Superior Court 4 in Michigan City. They are attempting to negotiate plea agreement that would reduce the charge to a Class D felony…" |
