Michigan Tribe Unveils Plans1 July 2005MICHIGAN – As reported by the Petosky News-Review: "The Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians unveiled plans Wednesday for a massive casino/hotel/entertainment complex on a 97-acre parcel of land on Cemetery Road, south of Petoskey. "Tribal chairman Frank Ettawageshik said construction on the project will take about two years, but a groundbreaking is expected this summer. "…The total project cost is $197.4 million. "…The plans feature an eight-story hotel, with rooftop dining. Ettawageshik said the design of the hotel will allow every guest room to have a view of either Little Traverse Bay or Lake Michigan. "The hotel will have 250 rooms and the restaurant will be able to seat about 110 guests. There will also be a large pool complex near the hotel and gaming floor. Ettawageshik said the Tribe will continue to operate Victories Hotel on U.S. 31. "…As for gaming, the complex will have 1,500 machines. The Tribe's current casino has 1,100 machines…" |
