Michigan tribe distributes funds1 August 2008MICHIGAN -- As reported by the Petoskey News-Review: "The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians announced the distribution of their twice a year 2 percent gaming revenue allocation to local government. "This year the tribe received more than 100 application worth more than $4 million. Through its review process, the tribe selected 26 recipients to spread out the available funds, which totaled more than $720,000. "...The city of East Jordan received $20,000 for the Jordan River Watershed study. St. James Township received $6,000 to restore and preserve the historic light tower at the entrance of Beaver Island Harbor..." |
