Michigan iGaming, sports betting operators report $301 million in May revenue17 June 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- Michigan’s commercial and tribal internet gaming operators reported a combined total of $301.43 million in gross receipts from internet gaming (iGaming) and internet sports betting for May. This reflects a 3.7% increase compared to April. Monthly Gross Receipts iGaming gross receipts for May totaled $251.47 million, up from $248.1 million in April. Gross sports betting receipts were $49.96 million, up from $42.6 million recorded in the previous month. Monthly Adjusted Gross Receipts Combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) for iGaming and internet sports betting reached $271.8 million in May. Of that total, $236.2 million came from iGaming, and $35.6 million came from internet sports betting. This marks a 1.3% increase in iGaming AGR and a 32.9% increase in sports betting AGR compared to April. Year-over-year, iGaming AGR rose 32.2%, while sports betting AGR increased 26.6% compared to May 2024. Monthly Handle The total internet sports betting handle was $386.1 million in May, a 7.6% decrease from the $417.6 million recorded in April. Monthly State Taxes and Payments Operators reported submitting $51.1 million in state taxes and payments in May, including: iGaming taxes and fees: $49.1 million Internet sports betting taxes and fees: $2.0 million Monthly City of Detroit Taxes and Payments Detroit’s three commercial casinos reported $13.35 million in wagering taxes and municipal services fees paid to the City of Detroit in May, including: iGaming taxes and fees: $12.7 million Internet sports betting taxes and fees: $651,441 Monthly Tribal Operator Payments Tribal operators reported $5.8 million in payments made to their respective governing bodies in May. As of May 2025, 15 commercial and tribal operators have been authorized to offer iGaming and/or internet sports betting in Michigan.
