Michigan Gov. vetoes gambling bill

14 January 2013

MOUNT PLEASANT, Michigan -- Michigan's Gov. Rick Snyder has pocket vetoed legislation that would permit VLTs at racetracks, according to a Michigan Live report.

The legislation had received the approval of 1,000+ legislative officials in December, the report said.

But it is assumed the Gov. vetoed it in consideration of Proposal 1, whereby new gambling bills have to be approved by Congress and a public referendum, Michigan Live reported.
