Michigan Gambling Compact Challenged

MICHIGAN – As reported by the WOODTV 8: "The plan took a hit last week when the state Senate overturned an earlier vote to approve a gaming project.

"Now a group called Michigan Gambling Opposition is challenging Governor Jennifer Granholm to deny a compact with the Gun Lake Band of Pottawatomi Indians, severely hampering the plans for a casino.

"The group sites the vote by the state Senate and the passage of Proposal 1 as evidence that voters don't want another casino…"
