MGM Grand Detroit Casino Opens New Italian Restaurant

Italian for 21, Venti Uno offers a combination of Northern and Southern Italian dishes.

``Venti Uno aims to be a fun and exciting restaurant,'' said Barrie Borovsky, MGM Grand Detroit Casino vice president of food and beverage. ``We are giving the customer a great dining experience for an excellent price value. I think it will be a destination in and of itself. There is something on the menu for everyone's taste.''

The restaurant, which is owned and operated by MGM Grand Detroit Casino, features:

A lounge

110 seats in a contemporary setting overlooking the action of the casino More than 40 Venti Uno employees, referred to as cast members, have been training for several weeks in order to provide the grand class service that is the hallmark of MGM Grand.

``We have been anticipating the opening of Venti Uno for quite some time now,'' said Borovsky. ``We're very proud of this new addition to our facility.''

Venti Uno head chef Anthony Middlebrook was previously sous chef at the MGM Grand Detroit Casino Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant. Middlebrook has been with the casino since its opening in July 1999.

Venti Uno, which is replacing Neyla, is now open for dinner Sunday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. until midnight, Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. - 1 a.m. and for lunch on Saturday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Reservations are recommended for dining patrons. Restaurant guests must be 21 years of age or older. Entree and pasta prices range from $10-26.
