Men Accused Of Using Counterfeit Currency in Slot Machines7 November 2000LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Nov. 7, 2000 – Two Las Vegas hotel-casinos sued three men in Clark County District Court, alleging they used counterfeit currency to play their slot machines. Mirage hotel-casino sued Atef Salami Nemer, Kamilo Yusef Mousalli Dayat, also known as Kamilo Mousalli, and Orlando Medina, alleging they "inserted into various licensed games $16,500 worth of counterfeit currency" at the hotel-casino on July 26, 1999. In a separate suit, Harrah's Las Vegas sued the three individuals, alleging they defrauded the hotel-casino by "passing counterfeit currency through various currency validators" at the hotel-casino on July 28, 1999, and "unlawfully took authentic currency worth $11,050." The defendants, whom the lawsuits say are believed to be from Venezuela, could not be reached for comment. |
