Mega Millions Soars to $150 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Lucky players nationwide continue to win big with the Mega Millions game. In the Friday, September 2 drawing, a total of 889,929 tickets from coast to coast won prizes. That includes nine tickets that only missed the jackpot by one number. No ticket matched all six numbers, so the jackpot for the Tuesday, September 6, 2005 Mega Millions drawing soars to an estimated $150 million.

The winning numbers in the Friday's drawing were: 01-04-14-45-53 and the Mega Ball number was 33

The nine tickets that came within one number of hitting the jackpot did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were purchased in California (2), Illinois (1), New York (3), Ohio (1) and Texas (2).

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
