Mega Millions Rises to $111 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Countless Mega Millions players had their eyes on the prize in Tuesday's drawing. More than 580,000 tickets won prizes, including 8 tickets that each won $175,000 and 33 tickets that each won $5,000. No ticket matched all six Mega Millions numbers to take home the nation's largest jackpot, so that jackpot now rolls to an estimated $111 million for the Friday, January 14, 2005 drawing.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 02-23-24-35-45 and the Mega Ball number was 18.

Those 8 tickets that each won $175,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Michigan (1), New Jersey (1), Ohio (3), Virginia (1) and Washington (2). Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
