Mega Millions Reaches $31 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions players are feeling the excitement as the jackpot continues to grow. When Friday's winning numbers were drawn, they turned 305,215 tickets into Mega Millions winners. That includes two tickets that each won $175,000 and 18 tickets that won $5,000. However, no ticket matched all six numbers to win the Mega Millions jackpot. That means the jackpot for the Tuesday, June 21, 2005 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $31 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were 16-35-40-49-50 and the Mega Ball Number was 34.

The two tickets that each won $175,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Maryland and Ohio.

Mega Millions players won a total of $1,770,619 in Friday's drawing.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Officials in California have announced plans to join the fun beginning June 22.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
