Mega Millions Jackpot Up to $61 Million

UNITED STATES – (Press Release) -- Mega Millions players are lining up to get in on the action. The jackpot for Friday's Mega Millions drawing has now grown to an estimated $61 million. That's because no ticket matched all six numbers in the December 9, 2003 drawing. But even with no jackpot winner, Mega Millions players took home more than $2.5 million in winnings in Tuesday's drawing. So the equation is obvious: Mega Millions = excitement.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 04-14-15-24-48 and the Mega Ball number was 41.

Four tickets came extremely close to taking the jackpot. They matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets each win Mega Millions' second prize of $175,000. Two of those tickets were sold in Washington. The other two were sold in New York and Virginia.
