Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $80 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions players are feeling the excitement as the jackpot continues to grow. When Tuesday's winning numbers were drawn, they turned 462,346 tickets into Mega Millions winners. Each of those tickets matched one of Mega Millions' nine prize levels. Since no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot grows to an estimated $80 million for the Friday, January 7, 2005 drawing.

Twelve Mega Millions tickets won $175,000 in Tuesday's drawing for matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Georgia (2), Illinois (1), Michigan (2), New Jersey (2), New York (3), Ohio (1) and Texas (1). In addition, 64 tickets won $5,000 each for matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball.

Tuesday's winning numbers were: 03-06-07-12-32 and the Mega Ball number was 30.

Mega Millions players won a total of $4,957,624 in Tuesday's drawing.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time, and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
