Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $75 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Countless Mega Millions players from coast to coast had their eyes on the prize in the Tuesday, January 31 drawing. A total of 476,934 tickets won prizes, including one ticket that won $250,000. No ticket matched all six numbers to win Tuesday's jackpot, so the jackpot for the Friday, February 3, 2006 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $75 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 1-35-53-54-56 and the Mega Ball number was 44.

That ticket that won $250,000 did so by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. It was purchased in New Jersey.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
