Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $25 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions excitement is growing along with the jackpot and players definitely want a piece of the action. A total of 259,148 tickets were winners in the Tuesday, June 14 Mega Millions drawing. That includes one ticket that won $175,000 and 17 tickets that each won $5,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $18 million jackpot, the jackpot for the Friday, June 17, 2005 drawing grows to an estimated $25 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were 1-10-29-48-49 and the Mega Ball Number was 36.

The ticket that won $175,000 came within just one number of taking the jackpot. It matched the first five Mega Millions numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. That ticket was sold in New Jersey.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Officials in California have announced plans to join the fun beginning June 22.
