Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $15 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The jackpot is growing once again in Mega Millions. Less than a week after a ticket sold in Rutherford, New Jersey won an estimated $250 million jackpot, Mega Millions excitement is building. A total of 336,840 tickets from coast to coast were winners in the Tuesday, September 20 drawing, including two tickets that each won $250,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers, the jackpot for the Friday, September 23, 2005 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $15 million.

Those two tickets that each won $250,000 matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. They were purchased in New York and Virginia.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
