Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $112 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions excitement is growing along with the jackpot and players definitely want a piece of the action. More than 660,000 tickets were winners in the Friday, February 25 Mega Millions drawing. That includes 12 tickets that each won $175,000 and 39 tickets that each won $5,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $96 million jackpot, the jackpot for the Tuesday, March 1, 2005 drawing grows to an estimated $112 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were 4-13-37-38-50 and the Mega Ball Number was 24.

The 12 tickets that each won $175,000 matched the first five Mega Millions numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Illinois (2), Michigan (3), New Jersey (1), Ohio (3), Texas (2) and Virginia (1).

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Officials in California have announced plans to join the fun later this year.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time. For more information on
