Mega Millions Jackpot Rises to $102 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The largest jackpot in the nation is growing even larger, and Mega Millions players are the winners! A total of 522,541 tickets won prizes in the April 05, 2005 drawing. That includes nine tickets that each won $175,000 and 39 tickets that each won $5,000. When you add it all up, Mega Millions players won more than $4 million in Tuesday's drawing. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the jackpot, the excitement continues to grow for the Friday, April 8, 2005 drawing, which will have an estimated jackpot of $102 million.

Tuesday's winning numbers were 04-19-45-51-52 and the Mega Ball number 22.

You can't come closer to winning the jackpot than the nine tickets that won Mega Millions' second highest prize of $175,000. Each matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Georgia (1), Illinois (2), Massachusetts (2), Michigan (1), New Jersey (1) and New York (2).

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Officials in California have announced plans to join the fun later this year.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
