Mega Millions Jackpot Rises

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- One ticket in California won $250,000 and nearly 390,000 tickets won other prizes, but no ticket matched five numbers plus the Mega Ball to win the estimated $12 million jackpot in the Friday, September 22, 2006 Mega Millions drawing. That means the jackpot for the Tuesday, September 26, 2006 Mega Millions drawing moves to an estimated $15 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 7-12-17-22-43 and the Mega Ball number was 16.

Pari-mutuel prizes means that prize amounts vary with the number of tickets sold and the number of winning tickets in each prize category.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states: California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
