Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $92 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Mega Millions drawing on Friday, May 27, 2005 really brought out the winners! A total of 541,602 tickets from coast to coast won Mega Millions prizes; including three tickets that each won $175,000 and 51 tickets that each won $5,000. In fact, Mega Millions players won over $3.3 million in Friday's drawing. However, no ticket matched all six numbers to win the Mega Millions jackpot. That means the jackpot for the Tuesday, May 31, 2005 Mega Millions drawing grows to an estimated $92 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were: 07-17-22-34-50 and the Mega Ball number was 24.

The three tickets that won Mega Millions' second highest prize of $175,000 matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Illinois, Michigan and New Jersey. In addition, 51 tickets won $5,000 each for matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Officials in California have announced plans to join the fun later this year.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
