Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $60 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions excitement is growing along with the jackpot and players definitely want a piece of the action. More than 410,000 tickets were winners in the Tuesday, May 17 Mega Millions drawing. That includes 4 tickets that each won $175,000 and 36 tickets that each won $5,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $50 million jackpot, the jackpot for the Friday, May 20, 2005 drawing grows to an estimated $60 million.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were 07-09-10-29-44 and the Mega Ball Number was 17.

The 4 tickets that each won $175,000 matched the first five Mega Millions numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and New York.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Officials in California have announced plans to join the fun later this year.

Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
