Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $51 Million

UNITED STATES – (Press Release) -- Even though there was no jackpot winner in Tuesday's Mega Millions drawing, a lot of players still walked away winners. In fact, Mega Millions players in eleven states won a total of $3,584,873. That includes nine tickets that each won $175,000 and 38 tickets that each won $5,000. Now the estimated jackpot grows to $51 million for the Friday, January 23, 2004 drawing.

The winning numbers in Tuesday's drawing were: 05-07-14-21-45 and the Mega Ball number was 36.

The holders of those nine tickets can say they came VERY close to winning it all. They matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number to each win $175,000. Three of those tickets were sold in Ohio, two in New Jersey and one each in Georgia, Maryland, New York and Texas.
