Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $40 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Mega Millions players from coast to coast are feeling the excitement as the jackpot continues to grow. When Friday's winning numbers were drawn, they turned 333,293 tickets into Mega Millions winners, including 6 tickets that each win $175,000 and 23 tickets that each win $5,000. Now that jackpot is growing! Since no ticket matched all six numbers in Friday's drawing, the jackpot grows to an estimated $40 million for the Tuesday, February 8, 2005 drawing.

The winning numbers in the Friday, February 4, 2005 drawing were 03-12-14- 30-52 and the Mega Ball number was 34.

Each of those six $175,000 tickets came within a heartbeat of winning the jackpot. They matched the first five numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Two of those tickets were purchased in Texas; the rest in Michigan, New York, Ohio and Virginia.

Mega Millions players won more than $2.7 million in Friday's drawing.

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time, and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
