Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $130 Million

UNITED STATES – (PRESS RELEASE)-- Mega Millions excitement is growing along with the jackpot -- and players are lining up for a piece of the action. More than 750,000 tickets were winners in the Friday, January 14 Mega Millions drawing. That includes 12 tickets that each won $175,000 and 48 tickets that each won $5,000. Since no ticket matched all six numbers to win the estimated $111 million jackpot, the jackpot for the Tuesday, January 18, 2005 drawing grows to an estimated $130 million.

The winning numbers in Friday's drawing were 15-19-24-40-47 and the Mega Ball Number was 50.

The 12 tickets that each won $175,000 matched the first five Mega Millions numbers and only missed the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in Georgia (1), Illinois (1), Massachusetts (1), New Jersey (2), New York (1), Ohio (1), Texas (1) and Virginia (4).

Mega Millions is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. Mega Millions drawings are held Tuesdays and Fridays at 11:00 PM Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Central Time, and 8:00 PM Pacific Time.
