Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $177 Million

LANSING, Michigan – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The temperature isn't the only thing rising as the summer begins to sizzle. Commissioner Gary Peters announced today that no winning ticket correctly matched all six winning numbers -- 9, 10, 17, 41, 52 and Gold Mega Ball number 19 -- in last night's Mega Millions drawing, pushing the jackpot for Friday, June 25 to an estimated $177 million!

"If one lucky player finds the winning number combination, then he or she would be burning up their check book earning a daily pre-tax paycheck of more than $18,000 per day," said Peters.

Should one winning ticket match all six numbers and the player selects annuity payments over 26 years, the $177 million jackpot would amount to pre- tax payments of roughly:

* $6.8 million annually;

* $130,900 per week; or

* $18,700 per day!

For those who prefer to take their cash winnings up-front, it's a pretty nice payday as well as the winner will take home a check for a pre-tax amount of a cool $100 million (approximately), the estimated present cash value of Friday night's jackpot!

Mega Millions tickets are available in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Friday's drawing will be conducted at 11 p.m. and broadcast on cable superstation WGN out of Chicago as well as a network of Michigan stations (check local listings).
